Who is Columbus?
Christopher Columbus was an italian explorer, navigator, colonizer, and citizen of the republic of Genoa who completed four voyages across the atlantic ocean. He is formally known for being the founder of the new world what we now call America. He was in search of a westward route to Asia by sea, the discoveries he did made were more important than the route he he was in search for yet did not find. Columbus,sailed a route that other Europeans never took.
What is columbus day?
This ia a day in which many countries celebrate the anniversary of christopher's discovery.
In my opinion i think it is really good that the u.s has these types of celebration because apart from giving credit to the people who are no longer with us it lets their memory live.
